Lama de la Maison de Khansar, he is well known as Tampa Rinpoche. At an early age, he was recongnized as the reincarnation of masters such as Virupa, Kukuripa, Sachèn Lama and Thangton Gyalpo. He studied first at the Nyingmapa Dzogchen Monastery with Jenga Rinpoche, a very learned master, and then with famous masters like Jamgon Loter Wangpo and Jamyang Chôkyi Nyima. While assuming the full charge of spreading and radiating the Sakya teachings, due to his earlier education and connection with the Dzogchen Monastery, he kept also venerating Guru Rinpoche.'
